Citizens Advice York offers a fortnightly advice service to residents of the Huntington community. Our generalist adviser offers advice across many different areas of enquiry, including but not limited to - benefits, employment, housing, debt, consumer, and family-related matters. Appointments are held every second and fourth Monday of the month at the Huntington Community Centre and appointment slots are based in the morning, starting from 10 am.

The River Foss Society www.riverfosssociety.co.uk
The Society was set up in July 1973 by Bill Sessions (the minutes of the Inaugural meeting, in New Earswick, can be found on the website). Most Committee meetings are held in the Huntington Community Centre these days.
 
Huntington Community Centre
Formerly the Board School, later an infant school, eventually becoming an annexe to Huntington Primary School. To generations of local people this familiar building is held in great affection. The building was bought by Huntington Parish Council and transformed into a much need Community Centre.  Orchard Park Community Centre
Orchard Park Community Centre: 
This Community Centre was built on Orchard Park in 1996. Money for the building was raised by events run by Orchard Park management committee and grants from Huntington Parish Council, Ryedale District Council and the Rural Development Council. The building consists of a large hall, committee room, well equipped kitchen and facilities for the disabled.  Huntington Memorial Hall
Huntington Memorial Hall
The Hall, originally the Methodist Chapel, was bought by public subscription after the First World War in memory of residents who had served their country. A plaque still remains on the wall with all their names on it. This Hall has two rooms for hire. New Earswick Swimming Club
Open swim sessions at New Earswick pool that residents in Huntington are welcome to attend.
The cost is £3 per swimmer (under 2's free)
The sessions are:
Saturday & Sunday, 2.00-3.30pm
Sunday 9.00-10.30am
Tuesday 7.00-9.00pm (note, adult lane swimming only from 8pm)
Friday 7.00-8.30pm (lane swimming only from 7.45pm).
Children aged 8 or under must be accompanied in the water by an adult (ratio 1 adult to 2 children). Children aged 9-17 are welcome to go in the water unaccompanied but must have an adult present in the spectator area.

The pool is located just behind The Folk Hall and there is ample free parking outside.

Parks and Play Areas
Huntington Parish Council own and manage three play areas within the Parish. All are checked on a weekly basis and annually inspected by RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) to ensure they comply with stringent European safety standards.
